Nepal Cultural Tour & Trek

Itinerary

Day 01 (01 November 2015): Arrive in KathmanduYou will be greeted by our representative at the arrival area and provided hotel transfer. Free time until dinner; in the evening, we will visit a traditional Nepalese restaurant for a fine meal accompanied by folk music and a cultural program.

Day 02 (02 November 2015): Kathmandu Sightseeing, drive to Nagarkot: 1 hour driveWhile in Kathmandu fascinating Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines reflecting ancient local traditions are highlighted on our guided tour. We’ll spend the day exploring several of the city’s most famous cultural landmarks like the sacred Hindu pilgrimage site of Pashupatinath on the bank of the Bagmati River, Bouddhanath – Nepal’s largest and most revered Buddhist Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa also known as The Monkey Temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square with Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Kumari Ghar and other age old monuments scattered around the vicinity. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city and drive countryside to Nagarkot in time to enjoy the sunset panorama.

Day 03 (03 November 2015): Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara: 6 hours driveWe’ll depart Kathmandu this morning by private van or bus for Pokhara. The scenic drive will take us through scenic countryside to the famous lakeside city where we can relax for the evening and savor the spectacular mountain views over Phewa Lake.

Day 04 (04 November 2015): Drive Pokhara to Naypul; Trek to Ulleri 2050m/6725ft: 1 hour drive and 6 hour walkA short drive from Pokhara will take us to the trailhead at Nayapul, from where we ascend gradually along the banks of the ModhiKhola, through subtropical forest and farmlands to Ulleri.

Day 05 (05 November 2015): Trek Ulleri to Ghorepani 2750m/9020ft: 4 – 5 hours walkContinuing our ascent along the ModhiKhola, lush scenery surrounds us as we pass several hillside villages, stopping to rest in Ghorepani.

Day 06 (06 November 2015): Trek Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Tadapani 2700m/8860ft: 5 – 6 hours walkAn early morning wake up and vigorous climb to the top of Poon Hill awaits, accompanied by some of the most spectacular scenery in the Annapurnas. From Poon Hill we’ll watch the sun rise over a maze of peaks spanning from Annapurna to Dhaulagiri. After enjoying the amazing view, we’ll cross over a nearby ridge, descending passed a series of waterfalls to Tadapani.

Day 07 (07 November 2015): Trek Tadapani to Ghandruk 1940m/6360ft: 3 – 4 hours walkA steep descent through thick forests of rhododendrons from Tadapani will be marked with excellent views of Machhapuchare, Annapurna south, and Huilchuli. We’ll arrive in Nepal’s second largest Gurung settlement, Ghandruk, a colorful village home to a bustling bazaar and cultural museum.

Day 08 (08 November 2015): Trek Ghandruk to Nayapul; drive to Pokhara: 4 hours walk and 1 hour driveWe make a long descent today through terraced farmlands, villages, and stands of bamboo and rhododendron. Descending along a staircase-like series of stone slabs to Birethanti, we stop to rest before continuing on to Nayapul, the last walking stop on our journey. From here we board our bus for the hour drive to Pokhara.

Day 09 (09 November 2015): Moring drive to Kathmandu (200 km, 6 hour drive)Depart for Kathmandu after breakfast and enjoy views of the Marsyangdi and Trisuli rivers. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city’s source of charms on your own or take care of any last minute souvenir shopping.

Day 10 (10 November 2015): Final DepartureWe hope that you enjoyed your journey! Our representative will transfer you to the airport approximately 3 hours ahead of your flight time. We bid you farewell and hope to see you in Nepal again, soon.
